The Kingaroy Drop-In Centre run by South Burnett Peace Of Mind will be open for guests and volunteers over the Christmas break.

The Drop-In Centre, which operates out of the Lutheran Church Hall in Youngman Street, will be open on December 25 (Christmas Day) from 2:00pm to midnight, December 26 (Boxing Day) from 9:00am to 9:30pm, December 31 (New Year’s Eve) from 9:00am to 12:30pm, and January 2 from 9:00am to 9:30pm.

SB Peace Of Mind founder Rhonda Trivett, who keeps things ticking over at the centre every week with the help of a group of keen volunteers, said anyone who would be alone over Christmas could come along and enjoy the activities on offer.

Dinner will also be provided.

On Monday this week, 38 people – and three dogs – dropped in and out of the centre during the day with more expected before dinner at 6:00pm.

People were playing games and doing other activities, or simply chatting.

In the kitchen, volunteers from the Ballogie QCWA – who volunteer one Monday a month at the Drop-In Centre – were preparing the evening meal. Read the full article here https://southburnett.com.au/news2/2016/12/20/drop-in-centre-open-at-christmas/
