The South Burnett Flying Panthers’ all-inclusive wheelchair basketball team was defeated by the Fraser Coasters wheelchair basketball team in a tight game on Saturday 26 June.

It was the Flying Panthers’ first competitive game against another region.
The team had a successful game missing out on a win by only four points, with the final score of 12 to 8 to the Fraser Coasters.
The program manager and coach of the Fraser Coasters, Michael Oxley, said he was really happy with the teamwork and sportsmanship his team displayed.
Coach of the Flying Panthers, Rhonda Trivett said her team did a ‘remarkable job’.
“The teamwork was outstanding with the team only playing wheelchair basketball for five weeks,” she said.
The Flying Panthers consists of 13 players, all of who played on the day.
Trivett is working the team towards playing at the Suncoast Spinner Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, the Classics Wheelchair Championships at Boondall in 2022.
“I believe the Flying Panthers will be ready for these competitions, I would like to thank the Suncoast Spinners, South Burnett PCYC, Fraser Coasters, and all of the volunteers that have made this possible,” Trivett said.
